Copy, probably from the 1930's, of a 1678 transcription of the accounts by Father Jacques Marquette of his two journeys from the Mission St. Ignace in Michilimackinac down the Mississippi River in 1673 and 1674, and by Father Claude Alloüez of a third journey to the Illinois country in 1676-1677; along with Marquette's autograph letter and journal, describing his efforts to establish the Mission de la Conception among the Illinois Indians at Kaskaskia, between Oct. 25, 1674 and April 6, 1675.
